Want to start dating yourself? I’ve got 21 solo date ideas for you to try on your self-love journey!
Have you ever heard of a term called “self-love?” What about a little something called “dating yourself?”
Usually, when you think of going on a date, you probably imagine going out with your (future) significant other, or even a close friend or family member. But what if I told you that you can date yourself? It’s sort of a new “trend” that people are doing and I’m all here for it. I LOVE the idea of spending a special day with yourself.
Plus, you have to give yourself the love that you want to receive from others. And a great way to do that is by regularly going on solo dates. They don’t have to be anything over the top; as long as you’re happy and satisfied, that’s what matters most.
So, if you’re interested in dating yourself, keep on reading!
Are you ready? Let’s get into it!
THIS POST IS ALL ABOUT solo date ideas.
Why should you date yourself?
I get it — you might be thinking, “Why exactly should I date myself?”
Great question! Dating yourself allows you to spend special time with yourself, get to know yourself better, and get a feel of what you want in a romantic relationship.
Like I said earlier, dating yourself doesn’t have to be anything extreme. As you’ll see later, you can do anything from taking yourself out for lunch to going on a solo trip.

How to Date Yourself:
Before we get in to the good stuff, I have to teach you how to date yourself. Because none of the these solo date ideas will be all the great if you don’t know how to apply them.
So, here’s how to date yourself:
1. Make sure you’re free at least one day each week
You want to make sure you have a day where you’re able to dedicate the entire day to yourself. You don’t want to have to worry about other obligations, like school, work, or family things.
I know how hard it can be to focus on yourself — especially when you have children, school, work, and other responsibilities. But I encourage you to put in the effort to practice self-care. It’s totally worth it!
Just think of it as an investment into yourself.
2. Set the tone for a good day
Start the day strong. It really starts the night before, so make sure you get a good night of rest. Then, when you wake up, do your morning routine.
Try to practice gratitude in the morning. This will really help you set the right tone for the day.
3. Treat yourself how you want to be treated
After all, this is a date. So, treat it accordingly. Don’t be late, lazy, or any of the above.
If you want that kind of love from someone else, you have to know how to give it to yourself first. How can you expect another person to give it to you if you can’t even do it for you?
